Over two years ago, she had an idea.
Last month—amidst a growing online business--she opened her retail store in Concord, NH.
Beth Richards, entrepreneur, marketing guru and the woman behind Local Baskit, welcomed approximately 100 people to the launch of the Local Baskit Concord Marketplace on February 24th.
Amidst shelves of local beer, lots of food, baskets of wine, and tables dressed for the occasion, people mingled and laughed. It was, as Beth described, “a festive evening!”
Beer tasting featured microbrews from Concord Craft Brewing and Tim Franciscovich, the Local Baskit outreach retail manager, chatted with folks, sharing his vast beer knowledge.
“We are the only retailer of [http://www.concordcraftbrewing.com/home.html](Concord Craft Brewing),” Tim explained. “It is very exciting.”
10 months ago, Beth started her online recipe kit business. Her business plan included a retail space eventually, but it was with great surprise that this plan came to fruition so quickly.
Like the [localbaskit.com](online portion of the company) (localbaskit.com), the Concord Marketplace is a hub for other local businesses. Whether one is looking for unique beer, a delicious wine, a meal to cook at home (CookTonight), locally-made pastries or a variety of food, snacks, milk, eggs, cheeses or meat, you can find it here.
It’s a fun space and an easy one to find. Just off of North Main Street in Concord, a short distance from two major exits off of I 93, the Concord Marketplace is one of the first things you see when you pull into the Concord Center at 10 Ferry Street.
“I’m really excited to be here in the Concord community,” Beth said.
We hope you’ll stop by!
